Thrilling full-day jeep safari through the Braldu Valley gorges to Askole (3,015 m) — the last inhabited settlement before the Karakoram wilderness. The village has existed for centuries as the gateway to Baltoro. Overnight in a simple village guesthouse.

The trek begins. Follow the Braldu River through arid sandy valleys, braided glacial streams, and the first dramatic canyon walls of the Karakoram. Camp at Jhola beside the roaring Braldu River. First night under the stars.

Trek through increasingly dramatic gorge terrain to Payu camp. The first views of the Baltoro Glacier appear ahead, glinting in the afternoon sun. Payu Peak (6,610 m) towers overhead.

Step onto the Baltoro Glacier — 62 km of ancient ice, one of the largest glaciers outside the polar regions. Trek across glacial moraine with the Trango Towers (6,286 m) rising vertically above — the world's greatest rock walls. Cathedral Spires complete the skyline.

Trek to Urdokas — a legendary grassy ledge above the Baltoro, often described as one of the most beautiful campsites in the world. Wildflowers in summer, sweeping views of Masherbrum (7,821 m), and Paiju Peak.

Continue deeper into the Karakoram. Gasherbrum IV (7,925 m) and Broad Peak (8,051 m) begin to fill the skyline. The glacier becomes wider and more dramatic. Goro II camp sits in a vast high-altitude amphitheatre of ice and rock.

The greatest single day of trekking in the world. Arrive at Concordia (4,600 m) — where the Baltoro and Godwin-Austen glaciers meet, surrounded by four 8,000m peaks. K2 (8,611 m) reveals itself in full for the first time. A moment no trekker ever forgets. Spend the evening absorbing the silence and the scale.

The defining day — trek to K2 Base Camp (5,150 m) along the Godwin-Austen Glacier. Stand at the actual foot of K2, where mountaineering history was made by the greatest climbers in history. Photograph the Abruzzi Spur — the standard climbing route. Return to Concordia for overnight.

A full rest and acclimatisation day at Concordia. Optional short exploration hike along the Baltoro or toward Broad Peak Base Camp. Photography sessions in different light conditions. Rest for the return journey.

Begin the return trek. Descending altitude brings warmth and improved energy. Trek back across the Baltoro Glacier with the Trango Towers once again filling the horizon.

Descend off the Baltoro and return to the river valleys. Vegetation and warmth return. The dramatic arid canyon world of the Braldu begins to feel welcoming rather than austere.

Final trekking day. Return through the Braldu gorges to Askole village. Celebration dinner with the full porter and cook team — a Heritage Hike tradition of sharing food, laughter, and gratitude with the crew who carried your expedition.
